The West Chester University Computer Science Department,
within the College of Arts and Sciences, provides access, through education and state-of-the-art technology, to the ever growing professional opportunities available in the fields of Computer Science. The Computer Science Department is a member of PACISE (Pennsylvania Association of Computer and Information Science Educators).
The Computer Science Department is home of the Information Security Center (ISC) whose efforts have established West Chester University as being as a Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) in Information Assurance (Security) Education. The ISC (made up of most of the Computer Science faculty) offers courseware which additionally has been certified by the NSA to meet the National Training Standards (NSTISSI) for Information Systems Security Professionals (standard 4011) and Systems Administrators (standard 4013).
